What does everyone use for transom Tie downs? I picked up some boat buckle ones at Gander and they get loose on their own going down the road. That can’t be right.

If these are working loose either you are not tightening them correctly or the boat is moving during travel. The design of these just won’t allow them to slip. They work on the same principle as a ratchet strap.

Had those on my crestliner when I bought it new. The only thing they ever accomplished was putting lots of scratches on my new boat. They were worthless.
Those ratcheting type you fasten to the trailer permanently are priceless. Well worth the money.

Seriously, getting whacked on a cold day by the tension buckle style and some not so nice words will come out of a guys mouth. I have the SS ratchet style and when I fish on friends boats with the other type I hate putting their straps on at the end of the day but do it to pitch in.
