Just need a fluid change, one general repair shop $750 and a transmission shop quoted $300. Looking for recommendations twin cities area.
It does seem steep, however this shop is likely quoting doing it correctly (pan drop, filter, etc). And if they’re doing it correctly they’re going to have to remove the exhaust manifold bolts because that’s what GM specifies. Of course you don’t HAVE to- I just did mine 2 weeks ago. Get creative with a ratchet strap and there’s plenty of flex in the exhaust to move the 1/8″ is needs to.
Or you could get that $200 trans fluid “change” where they siphon out what they can from the cooler lines and refill it, leaving the gunk and old filter in place.
Considering the quantity of trans fluid and price of it, a $200 fluid swap is not being done fully or correctly.
