You were quoted $750 for a tranny fluid change? No filter? Wow!
I had my 2018 Silverado tranny fluid change done at the Chevy dealer in Mauston,WI this summer. Complete flush with new fluid, no filter $212 out the door.

It does seem steep, however this shop is likely quoting doing it correctly (pan drop, filter, etc). And if they’re doing it correctly they’re going to have to remove the exhaust manifold bolts because that’s what GM specifies. Of course you don’t HAVE to- I just did mine 2 weeks ago. Get creative with a ratchet strap and there’s plenty of flex in the exhaust to move the 1/8″ is needs to.

Or you could get that $200 trans fluid “change” where they siphon out what they can from the cooler lines and refill it, leaving the gunk and old filter in place.

Considering the quantity of trans fluid and price of it, a $200 fluid swap is not being done fully or correctly.

Sorry due to other comments I assumed this was in a GM truck. If other brands it should be even simpler. Recommend doing it at home if you have a couple of tools and are a little mechanically inclined!

The expensive shop had the whole thing done, and that is what I want.

Will be calling around these recommendations.

    I had my 2018 Silverado

An 18 silverado if its an 8 speed tranny uses special fluid which is more expensive then the regular stuff.

I’m not sure which fluid the dealer put in my tranny but being it is a Chevy DEALER and my truck is a CHEVY I assumed they installed the correct spected fluid.
