Transferring New Boat between dealers?

If a dealer were to transfer a new boat from one dealer to another, what is a reasonable amount of time for the paper work to get straightened out at Alumacraft. I have asked them but in typical fashion they are not responding.

No firsthand knowledge but can’t imagine it taking more than one day.

    …if they care.

I’m new to this forum, and actually ordered comp 205 that arrived. Greg, after reading thru these forums,I got all caught up on your issues. 2 things, you have every right to be mad, and secondly I will be going thru my new 205 with a fine tuned comb! Hope things work out, I can’t wait to get on the water with this!

    Hi Larry,

Thank you! It certainly is a well designed tiller and I would have loved this boat if it’s 1/2 as good on the water that I think it would be. Both Alumacraft and the have ruined this!

In 3 months I have not received a single call from Alumacraft or the Canadian rep! My dealer totally avoids giving any date about anything but always says. Don’t worry we’ll get you in a boat.

Now were at the end of the second week that the dealer supposedly made a deal with another shop to get me a different 205. They are trying to say they are waiting on paper work. I don’t buy that at all! It doesn’t take 2 weeks for a financial transaction now a days.

I am going to start the return process if I don’t have a boat next week!

There is no “paperwork” that couldn’t be done AFTER the dealer gave you your boat. All if this sounds like BS to me and I hate to say it, but it also sounds like an attempt to keep you “on the hook”.

Have you actually SEEN this “replacement boat”?

Do you know what “other” dealer it’s allegedly coming from and have you talked to them to confirm this boat really exists?

A bunch of paper pushing between dealers and Alumacraft can all be done at any time, that is the dealer’s problem and Alumacraft’s problem. To be blunt, this sounds like a complete gong show gag.

My advice is to get your money back NOW. Tell the dealer you’ll be happy to buy this “replacement boat” if/when it actually ever arrives.

After, of course, inspecting it with a fine toothed comb.

Sorry, but this has all the hallmarks of a dealer conspiring to keep you on the hook so he doesn’t lose a sale. I am highly suspicious that there is no actual “replacement boat”, he’s tryging to work out a deal with Alumacraft and doesn’t want to own up to the fact that your replacemnt boat is now #497 in Alumacraft’s production order and will be delivered to you in June of 2022.
