I just bought a garmin 650 Montana and would like to transfer data from my garmin Colorado. Can someone detail the procedure and what cables are needed, thanks.

i thought those units could trade information wirelessly. maybe i am thinking of something different. otherwise, watch the dvd that should have came along with your 650 montana. if all else fails, there is youtube

thanks, since my post I did look up that you can wirelessly exchange data points one at a time, I was hoping that there was a way to download all the information from one unit to the other one in one fell swoop.

Download BaseCamp from Garmin…it’s free…to your home computer. Link both units up to BaseCamp using USB cables. Then you can either a) Upload from Device for both units and back up your information at the same time and drag and drop all the info from the CO to the MT in a single pass, or b) bypass the upload from device and simply drag and drop directly unit to unit. Easy peasy. Transferring each point wirelessly would be like watching paint dry.

Thanks, I will have to get over to the girlfriend’s house to use her computer.
