For those that have the long transducer, how do you perfect the tail spray when on plane? I’m wondering if the transducer is too low? I never had the issue with the smaller transducer. I think the water spray is getting through the vents on my outboard so I want to fix it.

I have several large transducers on mine, and don’t have the issue. I would raise it. You want it as high as you can get it and still function on plane.

I’ll give it a shot. I had a dealer put it on but doesn’t look very hard to do.

If you can’t get rid of the spray by adjusting the height and still maintain sonar readings, then find a thin but rigid plastic sheet, cut it to size, and attach it to the top of the transducer backing board with three small screws, above the transducer. It worked on mine, and deflects the spray back down to the water where it belongs. Easy fix.

I bought a rooster rooter from Berley Pro. Works awesome and highly recommend. I messed with my transducer forever and couldn’t get it right.

It’s an Australian company so it takes a awhile to get to the door but it’s worth the wait. Pretty cheap once the dollar conversion happens too.
