Have a new Lowrance Hook2 HDI Nav Package, have ny transducer mounted on the left side pontoon rear. This is the place there is a mounting bracket on my pontoon boat and where I had my old lowrance transducer mounted for 10 years.
With the new Hook2 every time I go over say 8 MPH my screen fills with small black lines. I tried mounting it on the side, underneath the pontoon boat and finally back to the left rear as said where my old one was mounted. My transducer is at least 3 feet from the outboard motor maybe 3.5 feet.
So before I take the pontoon boat to a welding shop and have the weld a mounting bracket to the right side pontoon do you think it will make any difference?
It does state in the directions to mount it on the right side with a clockwise turning prop, however as said I am at least 3 feet from my motor.
Anyone have an opinion should I get a mount welded to the right side pontoon?
