Noticed this wrinkling (see picture) on the bottom of my Marcum transducer this morning after using it last night. Any ideas as to what this may be, what causes it, and if it will affect the actual performance?

that thing looks like it got hot enough to start melting the plastic housing.

Email marcum with this picture, your serial number and shipping address and they should send out a new ducer for you. I have seen this before on other threads and that is what happened. [email protected]

I’ll give that a shot. I bought it used but worth a shot before I purchase a new transducer. Any ideas as to what causes that?

From what I have heard, sounded like an epoxy issue.Chances are it will still work but overtime will degrade further. Worth a shot to email them though and see what they say.

Good call on emailing Marcum. They are sending me a new transducer. I didn’t think they would since I’m not the original owner, but that’s great customer service!
