Transducer durability

I run my boat in everything from shallow rivers to the ocean. I sometimes beach my boat in less than desirable areas with large rocks. I am in the market for a new sonar/chart plotter with side imaging. When comparing between the Humminbird and lowrance the one concern I have with the lowrance is the length of the transducer. The Humminbird Helix is mich smaller. Does anyone have and comments on the durability of the lowrance. Thanks

It’s worked for me for the last 5 years…as long as I didn’t hit anything with it. Broke the mounting bracket several years back on floating ice.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit rocks/ice/wood with my hb si ducer, and it still works perfectly. I did make sure the break free hinge was set pretty light when I set it up. The transducers themselves are durable. The mounting brackets are the weak spot.

Will be running a Lowrance SI transducer this year. The thing is huge! Can’t comment on durability. But, great pic of the dog there!

I’ve had my Lowrance transducer on mine since 2014, no issues. I even drove it through an ice pack last year, again, no issues.

Of course mine is mounted in the step back of my transom where it is somewhat protected.
