I’ve currently got a 788 HD DI on the bow of the boat using the XNT 9 DI transducer on the Terrova. I’ve got a 898 SI at the back of the boat. Thinking about upgrading but wondering if I can save some cash. Can I hook the 898 up to the XNT 9 DI transducer and use the 898 on the bow instead of buying a new 859DI for the bow?

*I don’t care about SI at the bow.

It will probably send you some useful information to the 898.
The transducer is physically different and will effect the images.
The frequency / cone angles are all different and will affect the resulting images.
There is no 83 khz on that transducer.
You would need to map the transducer frequency and cone angles to what the unit expects.
Looks pretty messy with the DI transducer feeding a SI unit.

Thanks. May just have to buy a 859 for the bow and pair a 999 with the 898 at the helm.

    The 999 uses the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T
I think that is what you have on the transom now?

Humminbird use to swap transducers if unused at purchase time.
You may be able to mail the new 999 transducer in and
    get the XTM 9 HDSI 180 T
for the 898 up front on the tm.
