Help needed, I have all trailer running lights but don’t have any brake/blinker on starboard side, port side works as it should as does truck. Ground issue? Thanks in advance for help.

If it was a bad ground, then none of the lights would work (ground is used by all the lights). First off I’d try a new bulb. Next it could be a bad connection in the socket…take the bulb out and make sure the contact in there is clean. If it’s a wiring problem then it’s the green wire. The brown one is for the running lights.

If the trailer is 2 years old, would it have led’s? I would thing a dedicated ground(not through the ball hitch) in the wiring plug is needed.

Do you know the trailer wiring from the truck is working? Can be Separate fuses from the actual lights on the truck.

Did you check your truck fuses? Had this happen to my trucks a few times. There’s typically a dedicated fuse for your trailer lights.

Put a test light on your truck terminal.

Trailer does have leds and all dedicated truck fuses were good, I disconnected the plug at the light and found green wire part of the plug to have some greening on it I cleaned both sides of the plug and put some new dielectric grease on it and we are now good to go all lights work as they should, thx for the quick responses. peace

If you don’t use any trailer in the winter clean your terminals and pack with dielectric grease in the fall. Winter salt is a killer on trailer plugs.
