Looking at getting a new trailer and am curious if anyone uses a 66in x 10ft for a SXS? I currently have an ATV but am looking at getting a SXS next year. Looking at the various SXS’s I am interested in they would all fit on a 66in wide by 10ft long trailer. there is another option of a 76in wide trailer in 10ft length as well, but that adds some weight to the trailer as well. I want to be able move the trailer around by hand without much trouble (while empty) thru grass areas

If you keep the machine below 50inches wide (class 1) you’ll have a much greater variety of trails to ride here in MN if that’s what you’re wanting. The number of Class 2 trails (in MN at least) is slim compared to Class 1 trails.

And honestly I’d narrow down the machines you like and get a trailer to fit. No need to oversize the trailer if that is all it will be used for.

the machines I am looking at are 60in for the most part, not many restrictions where I will use it.

Im looking at getting a trailer this fall to use for my ATV this winter, the trailer I currently use is 82in by 14ft and is getting to be too much of a challenge to move around by hand especially when the ground is not frozen

Check out the Floe Cargomax trailer line… they were designed with SxS in mind, I use the 11’ long model to haul a full size ATV and Otter Cabin together. They are very easy to cleanup and light enough to easily move it around in the yard.

If you go with a 10 ft model watch where the axle is located. You will not have much if any room to move forward or backwards to adjust tongue weight. When I bought my aluma last year I went with the intentions of getting a 81×12 and bought a 81×14. I am able fit my flip over and sxs or sxs and another atv in a pinch.

This is a good point and why I needed the 11’ model vs the 9.5’ because the 9.5’ model just barely fit both the atv and otter and didnt allow any space to adjust tongue weight, the 11’ model did.

Tongue weight is key. Sure, getting a trailer to fit it perfectly is cool and all. However, chances are pretty good the axle will be too far forward and not give enough tongue weight unless towing backwards, which is not recommended by pretty much any mfg.

Don’t get hung up on 50″ class 1 trails…there’s VERY, VERY few left in MN. Which is sure to upset the old timer riders, but it’s the reality of the evolving sport. Remember, almost all trails started as single track motorcycle trails until the ATV crowd RUINED it by widening them for their machines. *insert tongue into cheek*

    Can we say “fish tail”
It’s freakin scary when that happens.
