Trailer lights?

Hey guys, first post here just looking for some help with setting up lights on my trailer, it’s a home built trailer I picked up for $600, no lights or wiring, has brakes but will cross that bridge when I get to it. My question is with the design of the trailer, it has a very slim dove tail, and it has fenders over the wheels too. My best option for right now (temporarily until I can afford better lights) is to take a led tailgate strip and wire it up. I picked one up used for $20, my question is, is it legal? It’s bright, has brake light and turn signal operation, and if I wire it to my trailer plug it will work right, like I said it’s a temporary solution as long as it’s legal?

    DOT & FMVSS
All automotive lighting, signaling, and reflective devices are regulated by U.S. federal regulations called Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). The FMVSS are established and administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The FMVSS specify design, construction, performance, and durability requirements for motor vehicles. To be DOT compliant, lighting must meet the Section 108 requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

I picked one up used for $20, my question is, is it legal?

Does the light you have, meet the requirements in section 108?

No clue, it looks to be just a generic eBay/Amazon light strip, like I said it’s only temporary so I don’t get pulled over, just didn’t know how much I’d be getting looked at for it. The trailer is 8ft wide and the strip is only 5ft, looking at it now I might just quit using it for the time being and make some side brackets and slap some lights on it that way.
