I need to replace the trailer light plug on my 04 Chevy silverado.
I was wondering…what is the best plug to use ?
The standard flat plug or those larger round plugs ?
I have a large round one on my Suburban and use an adaptor to the flat plug on my trailer.
I plan on replacing them both, truck and trailer.
Just wondering what is the best and most durable ?
    Suggestions ?

    Thanks

Round with a adapter to flat. Last two trailers I purchased had round plugs.

The round one with the cover. Put some dielectric gwaae in it to help keep it from getting caroded from highway salt and grime.

Do both, get a 7 wire plug that has the 4 wire plug on the side, you will love it.

Put a new round socket on the Suburban, then cut the flat-4 off the trailer and use a round plug on the trailer.

The round plug on the trailer makes it easy to add additional ground wires, running them all the way back to the rear tail/stop/turn lights.
