Im looking to get a toy hauler, but I just want a really simple and basic shell with drop down frame. I can’t believe how much some places want for basic shells with no interior finishes. Anyone have suggestions on some that aren’t like 6grand or more?

You can’t even find the most base house for 6 grand let alone a hauler. You’re going to be spending minimum 15 grand on up for new.

I think you might want to consider just buying the drop axle trailer and building it yourself. Miltona blacksmith would be a good place to start. I’m not sure but I don’t think you will find a toy hauler shell for anywhere near 6k. Prices have gone up considerably the last 2-3 years. Good luck and let us know what you find.

6k is a tough task for a house from a well known manufacturer. I have a 6.5×12 Yetti toyhauler that I purchased as a shell 10 years ago that was just over 6k.

Your best bet is to call Milaca Unclaimed freight and have them price you an Ice Castle shell, that will most likely be your best price. You still won’t be under 6k.

Unreal. Thanks for all the heads up, i’m floored by the prices. Maybe i’m completely out of line thinking they’re too expensive, but damnit they’re too expensive.

A buddy of mine bought a 21′ tandem Yetti toyhauler shell last year for $21,500.

$17k seems very high for a single axle 16′ crank shack shell……

    I have a professionally finished 2012 Yetti 16×6.5 I’ll sell for $17,000 waytogo

No interest in a house that size or finished inside, but thanks for the offer. Im a carpenter by trade so any interior finishes id prefer to do on my own, but honestly I dont even want that. I just want a shell, I’ll likely spray foam it, do some basic wiring and a heater and thats that. Simple and low maintinence, not to be used as a sleeper.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER A 6.5′ X 12′ UTILI-SPORTS™ TRAILER? I’M IN THE PROCESS OF FABRICATING AN ALUMINUM DROP DOWN UTILITY/TOY HAULER/ICE FISHING TRAILER. THE UTILI-SPORTS™ TRAILER IS AN EVERYDAY UTILITY-WORK TRAILER OR TOY HAULER THAT EASILY TRANSFORMS INTO A CAMPING, HUNTING OR ICE-FISHING ENCLOSURE. THE TRAILER WILL HAVE INSULATED FLOORING/SIDE PANELS (24″-30″), REMOVABLE INSULATED TENTING/TRAVEL ENCLOSURE AND A BI-FOLD ALUMINUM GATE. THE TRAILER FRAME WILL ALSO BE FABRICATED WITH 6″ TUBE FRAMING FOR SUPERIOR STRENGTH AND YOU CAN STORE IT IN YOUR GARAGE WITH ITS COLLAPSIBLE/REMOVABLE TOP TOO. THE 2990 LB GVWR TRAILER, WITH 3500 LB TORSION AXLES SHOULD BE AN EST. 750-800 LBS. DRY WEIGHT SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO LONG-TRAVEL TRANSPORT WITH THE LARGEST OF TOYS UP TO AN EST. 2200 LBS.

You sound like me. I bought a ridgeline from beberg outdoors – there is a review in my profile. The tiny ones start at 6.5k. 4 years and tons of camping, hunting, fishing trips later and I still love it.
