Towing a boat in these times?

I was wondering what you guys thoughts are about towing a boat with this current stay at home order. Obviously towing a boat you’re sticking out like a sore thumb. Could you get pulled over and told what your doing is not essential?

I think stream trout fishing could be considered exercise / hiking which is allowed. Driving to a trout stream nobody knows if I’m out grocery shopping, etc. There’s just something about towing a boat that seems like you’re asking for trouble. Thoughts?

I think you are OK, it is still considered recreation, which is allowed. I read specifically somewhere the boating is still allowed, with social distancing rules sill applying.

Fishing has been deemed as allowable. People are way over thinking all of this. They are not actively enforcing any of this. Went ice fishing yesterday with another person. There was a Game warden sitting at the landing we used. He never even rolled down his window. He was probably watching for people who were going through landowners yards to get to solid ice. He never even bothered to check several guys who were coming of the ice there at the landing.

Good luck keeping 6 ft apart with 3 in a boat. Once again they are not going to be enforcing any of this – Right now its even debatable if they even can legally.

As long as all passengers in the boat are from the same household, the 6ft rule does not apply.

Many will say even if they are not from the same household the 6Ft rule does not apply.

The Stay At Home Order specifically states that you can recreate outdoors which includes fishing and hunting, as long as you do it alone or with someone from the same household. So yes, you can pull your boat to the lake and fish, just as long as you’re doing it by yourself or only with family you live with. Going with a friend is not permitted at this time and you risk getting cited for doing it until April 11.

Went to the Fox River over the weekend. 19 ft Crestliner with MN plates and passed probably 10 officers driving across WI and they never batted an eye. Even had a nice chat with the water patrol on the Fox. You will be fine.

I towed mine about 250 miles each way on Friday and nobody batted an eye.

P.s. I made two stops for gas and bathroom break. Washed my hands at each stop, sanitized before getting back in my truck, used my own sanitized pen to fill out my license plate into for the landing pass, and actually washed my hands with a thermos of hot water and soap I brought along after launching. I don’t think I got any closer than 15 yards to another person.

If people take necessary precautions travel in this format should be ok.

I thought you could fish with another individual outside of your household if 6 feet apart from each other. So drive to the ramp in separate vehicles and maintain proper distance while in the boat?

Yeah… I don’t get too uptight about stuff but kids do have an interest in fishing and could visit the site. It’s a little on the graphic side.

It’s one choice to make decisions that effect oneself and/or others. I hope one chooses wisely. It may not be you who thinks they don’t have the virus but it will be someone like you spreading the virus. Cleaning yourself does nothing that comes out of your mouth or nose.
SIDE NOTE, do underwear prevent moist farts from spreading covid 19.

No attacks. Just a joke. Most likely a bad one.
