I have a bass tournament coming up in mid april on Twain Lake. Never fished the area before, so looking for info on what to expect as far as conditions, lodging, methods , etc. I’d be most grateful for any advice.

i fished it last year in early june we caught alot of fish just under the size limit some people catching 50 bass a day and only 1 keeper it fished tough but fun tough

for a motel we stayed in monroe city believe its the rainbow
also theres a bar in town its white its got real good homade pizza

as far as fishing goes depends on the amount of rain we get
it was way way low 3 years ago when we fished it and this last year was normal pool

i like to target the little pockets in the creek arms and off the main lake shell branch pigeon roost have produced well for me in the past

senkos brush hawgs and lizzards should be the ticket in april even a jigg

one thing i notice about the lake is sandy creek seems like every time im there there seems to be a boat on every snagg in the thing on the weekends very highly pressured creek

wish i had better info but i havent been there alot and every time i go its something diffrent

ps 6 years ago our tournoment was moved to a local lake j lake because marktwain was so high there was only 2 ramps in the whole lake assessible

Early tournies are won up in the head waters up Middle and North fork. If the water is high boating wont be as hazardous. Lots of standing timber, you have to pick your way through it and try to follow the old creek channels.Get way up there and get out your jig and and big ol chunk o-pork start flippen the laydowns. Good luck
