For those who have any interest in ABA for this year in the QC area there are flyers on the K&k shelves to pick up and review, post here if you have questions or pm me. Pretty good show, dangerous for those with cabin fever and the need for spending!!

For those of us who do not know, what does ABA stand for? Any info you can share with us about ABA will hopefully draw more people for you. Thanks, Bill

February 22, 2004 at 3:52 am #293610Thanks. My guess was American Bass Association but was curious and figured others might be too. Feel free to post all you guys want. Thanks what this forum is for and I would love to see ALOT more Bass fisherman posting on here so we all can learn from you guys on this forum also. Its here for you guys just as much as it is for anyone else. In fact there are way more Bass tournaments than probably all other kinds of tournaments combined by a huge amount so post away you guys. Thanks, Bill
February 23, 2004 at 3:54 pm #275075Unfortunately as a guide and someone who has payed more than the minimum entry fee allowed I am not allowed to fish these.
In Missouri I saw entry form after entry form with the same line on it; “Guides and Pros Welcome”. Oh well you can’t win them all and this series expansion into this area shows a commitment to our local area and economy, so I appreciate their effort.
February 26, 2004 at 9:15 pm #294300Lawrence you might still be able to fish with the ABA if you like. There has been some rule changes this year. While there is a dollar amount above which we consider someone a pro it has to be paid in a Pro division now and within the last 6 months. For example I’m headed to Table Rock next week to compete as an amateur in the BASS tour event. Entry fee was $650 but it doesn’t count because it is not pro division.
As far as a guide to be ineligible you would have guided on the tournament waters within the last 30 days. I would consider this one pool up and down from our launch. I think you are farther north so your guiding would not be a problem.
Both of these were revised considerably since last year. I would also assume this applies only to Bass tournaments and not those ugly walleyes. But I might have to check with HQ to be sure.
Here is the rule:
Quote:
PROFESSIONALS: Individuals who have fished two or more tournaments as a designated Professional in a Pro/Am event requiring an individual entry fee of $525 or more in the preceding six months are not eligible to fish. This rule does not apply to Amateur status anglers.
GUIDES: Individuals who are serving as a licensed guide or are paid for guiding on tournament waters within the previous 30 day period are not eligible to compete in American Bass Anglers events on that lake(s).

KenFebruary 27, 2004 at 10:09 pm #294481Kitty corner to the left from pb2 across the river there is a little dent in the shoreline a stump lays up there with a red or orange slip on it. You know where the big three cans are, well it is about 45 degrees to the left and to shore from the last can. I’m just guessing , but you probably already know where I’m talking about. It was just loaded with fish last week, including some tourney size fish. Thanks for the info. Lawrence
