Is there any bass tournaments out there other then joining a club that don’t cost $150 to $200 to enter. It’s not always about winning big money is it? I always liked to just catch and release thats why I stared fishing Tourny’s I wanted to fish BFL as a co-angler couldn’t find a boater I would love to fish as a boater But 320 mile round trip motel and you better come early to pre fish so thats 3 nights plus gas. $200 is to much. But I guess that’s how you weed out the weak ones(like me). and with the way things are with money this year it isn’t good for a lot of people. I fished a tournament a couple of years ago at Midway Bar in Fountin City it was $40 dollars a boat I didn’t have a partner to fish with but for $40 I could fish it alone. and they had a good turnout can’t remember what the pay out was but I donated $40 to it. Anybody know where I can find more Tournaments like this? Thanks for your time guy’s.

Why exclude bass clubs? That seems to be exactly what would be the best fit for you. They’re cheaper, more relaxed, and a lot of fun.

I am not excluding them. I did belong to a bass club. But having to travel more and more for work I can’t commit to a toury because I don’t know if I am going to be home. And in that club you had to pay your money a month before the tourament and if you are the boater you screw every thing up if last minute you can’t make it.It wasn’t about looesing the money. Its about doing things right. And a couple of times I was home that weekend and couldn’t fish because I didn’t pay the money. But again I didn’t know if I was going to be home. Any way it didn’t work for me. And being a club member I couldn’t be around for all the public projects. And go to all the meetings where they talked about everything but fishing. Maybe I need to find a better more layed back club. But I guess what I am looking for is is some cheeper opens. Thanks for the comeback.

I think you should try a different club! or about the only other thing I can think of (and its a bit of a haul) but there are tuesday and wednesday night tournaments on the Madison Chain that you don’t need a partner for. 10 or 15 bucks to enter, sign up 30 minutes or so in advance and you are good to go. they start at 6PM.
