The tournament was on Pool 5 at Alma, Wisconsin. As you can see the bite was a tough one. The best walleye spot was replaced by northerns, water temps were up from the weekend before, decent size eyes were replaced with short fish. It just goes to show why its called fishing and not catching. Sorry no pics this time as it was pouring rain at take out/weigh in time. Felt great to be on the water, its a fun pool to fish, and hopefully next time we will remember to invite the eyes to the outting. lol. Thanks, Bill

PS. Pool 5 is a great place to fish for Smallmouth Bass and Sheephead. Yes, Sheephead. They have some really big ones in this pool. Great place for practicing on how to handle big fish. Almost got kissed by my partner, lol, when we were fishing a wingdam below the dam and I set into a heavy fish and about a foot or so below the top of the water the fish rolled and my partner saw it and at first it looked like an eye , a big eye, but turned out to be a carp. It acted like an eye too when hooked. You never know what you will catch on the river. Heard some reports from other tournament fisherman about all the small mouth and sheepies that they caught too. Like I said this is a fun pool to fish. I haven’t been down here in along time until recent and I can see why I miss it. With no really big tournaments coming to the local pools next year instead of prefishing with people I’ll be able to play more on the water and this is one pool I want to revisit. Learned alot the past couple days about this pool. Alot of spots I never knew about were found and it was fun. And for you who don’t have boats the Alma Float sure looked like a fun place to be. Saw alot of fish caught from that Float. We people who have boats please keep your distance from the Float as we have the whole river and they only have the small area at the Float. Thanks, Bill
