Congrats guys! Way to go! Thanks, Bill
[ps. as of 8:05 no complete standings up yet for internet access]
Just found out that Pro Darold Swank from Pierre SD won the tournament. He has been fishing as a Pro in different top Pro Tournaments for years and is a top notch angler. Should have more info by tomorrow to post on this. Thanks, Bill
Just wanted to drop a note to say that brian and I are thankful for everybody’s support at these tourney’s! I think Brian and I should have gotten something for having to fish with Darold Swank. That’s right,we both fished with him. Brian on Sat,and me on Sun. What did we get from him? a hard time! Great guy’s in these tourney’s!!We are having so much fun! Thank’s again guy’s for your support!!!
Just thought that this little guy look’s alot like Brian!!!Can we change the Hair color to Blonde??? Thank’s again guy’s!
Chappy, I got enough ribbing from Darold, and now I have to keep getting it from you! Don’t make me bring up your BRIGHT green shirt.
On a serious note, thanks goes out to everyone who fished these tournaments and the supporters on the board. I’ve learned more in the past year from guys like Tuck, Holst and all of the Pro’s in the tourney’s. I would highyly recommend the RCL Walleye League to anyone who wants to get their foot in the door and doesn’t have tons of time or cash to do it. It’s been like having guide service all summer long.
I would also like to thank Bill Cadwell for all of his work that goes into following the tournament and keeping the board up to date!
Thanks to all!
Brian Hilgardner
I know i’ll never stay in that place again, They did’nt even clean out the soap tray’s in the shower! Gross!!!
I liked the carpet stains the best. Hard to beat for $35 a night. By the way, Jim didn’t pay for the room, I did. I noticed he was trying to take credit. Figures.
I was kinda hopeing that we did’nt drop a coke or something there. In the other room the chain in the toilet kept breaking and we let the people at the front desk know and we came back ,the note on the toilet was gone and the chain broke again. DUMP! No pun intended.
I would also like to say thanks to everyone that I fished with and met over the past summer. It was a great expirience (except missing the cut by 10ozs ). Just making the championship was more than I expected in my first year. You guys are all class acts!
Jason, Were you down in Iowa? Why did’nt you come up to us and introduce yourslf? I agree with you and bri-eye’s, These guy’s are class act’s and would love to put in some more time with them.
Hey Chappy,
I was there Wed thru Sun. I guess I must have just missed the chance to meet up with you guys. Congrats on your finish! I would also love to get more chances to fish with guys like the ones I met. Are any of you fishing the river in October? I’m not, but if anyone would like someone to help pre-fish I’d be more than happy to.
Jas, Bri-bigeye’s and I both qualified for the river. I live 5-6 miles from there so I’m planning on fishing it a couple day’s a week to hone back up on the river. If I can’t find a partner I’ll give you a shout.
MR. Swank is a full-time sponsored pro . He beat us at LOTWs
in 1999 when we finished 2nd in the national championship. Nice guy, nice fisher wife(FLO), and a strong an able competitor.
Back to the hotel rooms, I recommend wearing full body condoms just to lay on the beds there! Plenty GROSS! I pulled the drapes to shut them, and they pulled right out of the wall! I stayed in better flop houses out in Big Stone!
You remember the room that had 3 different kinds of paneling on the same wall at big stone? LOL
Warm, dry and bug free is all I expect if I’m paying.
A Shower is nice too!
I was going to ask you guys where you got a room for 35.00 but decided that Nates Van and/or the tent looked pretty good after hearing about all the ”extra benefits” that came along with your room. Now we all know why only 35.00 per night. Thanks, Bill
When staying better than a week, a good bed with cold air conditioning was great. Things aren’t so bad when the lights are out.
I know what your saying Mike. Think of all the times I’ve slept in the back of my truck, or spent $15 to camp and sleep in a tent.
Yeah, I agree, if we cold see what was crawling around, it might have been more scary!
