Can you guys please tell me how to become an amature fisherman. I was hoping to be able to get into some serious fishing and hoping to do well. if you have any information on this subject, you can PM me or even just post it here.

Shane you could fish as a am. in a PWT or RCL event. You will go out with a different pro everyday.Or you could enter a GNWC,MWC,or RCL League event. Some of these are team events.Find a good partner and enter a few events and see what you think.
Or are you talking bass fishing?I’m sure there are all kinds of bass tournaments that are a good place to get started.

This year I fished four stops in the Minnesota Tournament Trail. It is a really well run tour with some great guys. Check out their website Shane. It’s a great place to start.

    hey thanks guys,

are they looking for amatures or mostly pros? what does your boat need for tourney fishing? seeing how most of you all fish the tourneys. I have always wanted to do this, so it would be great for some help.

    thanks

    hey one other thing!!

I was wondering what a good trolling motor would be that isn’t real expensive, just something to get me by. looking for a front mount. any suggestions? also how hard is it to hook up and mount it yourself or does it pay for someone to take care of that for me?

    thanks alot guys!

I’d get the biggest you can afford and use on your boat. Can never have too much power. What kind and size boat is it going on? Thanks, Bill

You can’t go wrong with a Minnkota. I have to agree with Bill, get the biggest you can afford. Installing a bow mount is pretty simple, just take your time and read the directions.

I am looking to get atleast an 18 footer, what brand, i do not know yet. and seeing how we are on teh subject of electrical stuff, how hard is it to wire in a live well? just thought i would ask.

    thanks

    good news!!

I am now a member the FLW. I just ordered my membership today, even though my wife don’t know. I worked my butt off, i think that i can spend $25 for the membership. hopefully I will have gained enough knowledge to make it to some tourneys next year. I will probably talk to you about it gator when we get out fishing.
