Congrats to EFN Anglers Chris Tuckner 1st. place, Brett King 9th place, and Nate Cadwell 19th place. This was one tough tournament as it was right in the middle of a mayfly hatch. Your locator would show tons of mayflies about half way down in the water colunm. And to add to the situation most of the day the winds were calm which always hurts the bite on Mille Lacs. There were 86 Teams and yet only 25 teams weighed fish. And out of the 25 teams that weighed fish there was a total of only 33 fish brought to the scale. Congrats guys, you ”earned” your points toward the Championship under very tough conditions and came through. Thanks, Bill

Fantastic job Tuck! A lot of people have trouble finding one 28″ walleye in their entire life, and you bang two in one day. A very well deserved win. With a decent placing at Leech, you should be on your way to the League Championship.

    Thanks Guys!
One thing to remember, with the bugs in the water column, Whitefish and perch are up there too, and it brings the big walleyes up. We counted on it, and for once, it paid off!

Congrats Tuck! How was the bite??? Did you have to release many in the slot?

Out of 86 boats there was only 33 fish weighed in, alot of those were big fish. I got luck enough to get paired with a guy who knew where there was a couple of slots fish and we weighed 2 in and took 13th place. Good job again Tuck!

I thought the bite was average for what we were doing. We had many big fish, none smaller than 24″. Our first fish of the day was 27.5″ right off the bat, I handed the rod off to my co-angler, and I knew it was big. Unfortunatetly not quite big enough…but he knew what they felt like anyway. The next fish was 28 1/4″, and it went in the box. We fished the rest of the day and averaged almost 2 fish/hour. The last fish hit like a musky, and pulled like a freight train! We got it at 1:45, and pretty much idled back to Mac’ Twin Bay. It was a lot of fun.The God’s smiled on us, that’s for sure!
It was nice to see all the EFN hats at the weigh in!

Here is me and my co-angler, Bill Wieczorek of Little Falls with the two that won it…Bill is an employee at the Crestliner factory, and actually won the chance to fish this tournament at the plant. That is a story in itself…

Hi Brian-you cashed a nice check on Pool 3 too didnt you???? Whats the deal-nice draws or should you be on the pro side!

Either way-nice job! I have been waiting to see the standings but the RCL site isnt updated yet. I didnt fish Mille Lacs, so I am curious to see what I need to do on Leech to make the championship as a Co.

There are 300 points at stake at Leech, so you do have a good chance if you get on fish. That is why is is so important to bring at least on fish in! I was miserable about only bringing one fish in on Pool 3, but that one fish got me 158 points out of 200. Are you going to get up to Leech any time soon??

Not until the week before. Things are so chaotic this summer -it is hard enough to plan for tomorrow

Yeah Dave, I hope I have had a bit to do with it, but I’ve been teamed up with some pretty good sticks. I can’t say enough about the two partner’s I’ve had. Both were tremendous fisherman, and love to play this “game” we call fishing. The Walleye League is such a great way for guys to be able to fish tournaments, without investing tons of time away from our “other” lives (families and work). I would definitely say you have a very good chance of making the championship with a good showing at Leech. I think only 25 teams weighed fish at Mille Lacs, so a lot of Co’s went home with zero points. Good luck and I hope to see you there!

    Tuck-
Congrats again, you definitely deserved it! Great job providing the photo’s and recap. See you on the river soon!

Congrats Tuck! Those are 2 nice fish. That’s what it takes to win on Mille Lacs.

Nice pic of those 2 piggies. It just amazes me that there’s almost more big fish being weighed than slots! It was cool meeting some face’s to put with names at the rules meeting Friday night, just wish I could keep them all straight.

What’s the guess for a weight at leech that will cash a check?
I know Tuck’s whole day will be made up there as soon as he puts 1 in the well, but what does everyone else think???

With 2 days I figure I need 24 pounds minimum to make the championship. Now its just a matter of where they are!! If we get to cull I would expect close to 30 to win.
