‘FLW OUTDOORS’ TV TO RECAP FLW TOUR EVENT ON KENTUCKY LAKE
MINNEAPOLIS (May 29, 2003) — This week on “FLW Outdoors” television, co-host and angling veteran Larry Nixon talks to finalists from the fifth stop on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour that took place earlier this month on Kentucky Lake. Nixon interviews the winner of the $100,000 top prize, Steve Kennedy of Auburn, Ala. Nixon also sits down with the second-place finisher, Evinrude pro Davy Hite of Prosperity, S.C., who took home a $35,000 check. Rounding out the guests is FLW Tour pro Gary Yamamoto of Mineola, Texas, who earned a ninth-place finish.
Kennedy, who claimed his first FLW Tour win at the Kentucky Lake event, talks about his winning weight of 44 pounds, 14 ounces, which surpassed runner-up Hite by more than 10 pounds. Hite – who has appeared in the top 10 at FLW Tour events four times, including one first-place finish – talks about the healthy stringers on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. Yamamoto, whose best finish to date was at this year’s Kentucky Lake event, talks about how Carolina-rigging emerged as the most consistent method of catching huge fish.
This week’s “FLW Outdoors” also features an on-the-water look at third-place finisher Tom Monsoor of La Crosse, Wis., and instructions from Yamaha pro Terry Bolton of Paducah, Ky., for painting worm weights.
