‘FLW OUTDOORS’ TV TO PREVIEW FIFTH STOP ON WAL-MART FLW TOUR
MINNEAPOLIS (May 14, 2003) — This week on “FLW Outdoors” television, co-host and angling veteran Hank Parker talks to three pros as they prepare for stop No. 5 on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, taking place on the unseasonably high water of Kentucky Lake. Parker interviews the world’s hottest angler and Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year leader, Evinrude pro Dan Morehead of Paducah, Ky. Parker also chats with former Angler of the Year Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich. Additionally, Parker catches up with one of the few international anglers on the tour, Takahiro Omori of Emory, Texas, who originally hails from Japan.
Morehead, who has a commanding lead in the AOY race, talks about why he is not at all surprised that he is leading this year’s race. VanDam discusses his fast-paced fishing style and what that will mean on Kentucky Lake’s high water. Omori, who has won more than $200,000 on FLW Outdoors tournament trails, talks about the leap of faith he took to come to America from his native Japan to fish professionally.
This week’s show also features a Bass Profile of Morehead’s career, a look at how the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources counts fish and a recap of the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Tour event that took place in Pierre, S.D., in early May.
The Outdoor Life Network broadcasts “FLW Outdoors” every Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern time. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area.
