World Walleye Association begins the 2003 season this weekend!
The World Walleye Association gets the 2003 season started this weekend with
tournaments in South Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio.
The South Dakota division will have a tournament April 6th at Francis Case
out of scenic Cedar Shores Resort, one of South Dakota=B9s premier resorts.
Steve Poll, Executive Director of the WWA will also be the Tournament
Director of the South Dakota division. =B3I am very happy to be running the
South Dakota division this year. We have a great bunch of anglers in South
Dakota fishing the WWA and I am looking forward to a great year!=B2
Returning Minnesota Tournament Director Gregg Clark will be running two
one-day tournaments, April 5th and 6th on the Mississippi River at Red Wing
Minnesota out of Colville Park. This is one of the more popular stops in the
Minnesota division as anglers are itching to get back into the tournament
swing of things and what better way than by competing in two exciting
one-day tournaments back to back. The spring bite at Red Wing can be a good
one and the anglers have a chance to rack up a good number of points to be
used toward qualifying for the National Championship in September.
The Ohio Division also kicks off the 2003 season April 6th at Catawba Island
State Park on Lake Erie. With Lake Erie=B9s reputation as a big fish factory
and a little cooperation from Mother Nature, this tournament could set a new
WWA record for total one-day weight. Dave Kidd will once again be the
Tournament Director of the Ohio division and is anticipating excellent
turnouts for the second year of the division.
These tournaments still have openings available but are limited to 100
teams. Please visit the WWA website at http://www.worldwalleye.com
