I’m sure we’ll find out this weekend. They usually hand out next year’s schedule at the super tourney. Also give us the location of this year’s wildcard!
September 18, 2006 at 10:03 pm #480133Here’s the Tenative Schedule that I recieved Friday:
Jun 9-LaX
Jun 30- Winneconne
Jul 21- Clinton, IA
Aug 11- Prairie du Chien
Sept 8-9- LaX (SuperTourney)
Date? Regional- Ft. Madison, IASeptember 20, 2006 at 1:28 am #480505thats odd that they don’t start until the 9th. thats almost a month later than 2 years ago. unless we have an early spawn, those will be some shallow weights.
September 29, 2006 at 3:39 am #483916Does anyone know what the reason is not starting til June.. and then 2 of them in a couple of weeks. That will suck for some guys and vacations…Is there another bigger tourney in may????
September 29, 2006 at 5:45 am #483933I’m not sure if there is a bigger tournament in May, but you can be sure I’ll find one somewhere! There is no way I’m going the whole month of May without fishing a tourney!

December 26, 2006 at 2:20 pm #515120Most of the circuits out there have their advantages and disadvantages. If you like the bigger tournament atmoshpere then the BFL is definitely the way to go. Just so you know, bigger tournament does not mean bigger skill! There are many beginners who do well fishing the co-angler side with very limited bass knowledge.
The BASS weekend series looks like a great schedule too. I wish I could do them both.
Both circuits have great dudes in them. Sorry for confusing you even more… .
CentralBassmanPosts: 341December 27, 2006 at 6:51 pm #515651Mitch,
I guess you will need to look at both schedules to see what circuit will be more convienient and beneficial for you to fish in regards to where you live versus the tourney locations. There is a lot of expense involved beyond the entry fee. As D-Nort said, both circuits attract good anglers and there is no better way to learn than to fish behind one of these guys all day. The BFL is an established and proven grass roots circuit that has been around for a long time but there are some features of the ABA/BASS thing that are attractive also. You have to do what is good for you, your schedule, and your pocket book.
Good luck this year.Danny

January 13, 2007 at 8:32 pm #522422The BFL is well represented by some of the best fishermen through the midwest. And is well established….so D-nort and Slop…I will be fishing the BFL myself this year…look out….
January 31, 2007 at 2:43 am #530370Nort, looking for a bigger tournament in May, what about the Sturgeon Bay Open? By far the biggest and best run tournament in the area. Oh ya, the fishing is great.

February 6, 2007 at 4:06 pm #533377Sturgeon Open!???
I know that is an awesome tournament but I just can’t bring myself to donate to you and the locals . I know it has gotten much better since they took away the trolling, etc… but I’d still get my butt handed to me up there. The only time I do well up there is late May- June. And those bed fish would be dinks for the SO tourney.
