    I was wondering about Lake Wissota I know of a bass tournament that has been out there during the summer but I can’t find any info about it. I love fishing Lake Wissota and if anyone knows about any Bass tournaments out there this year it would be fantastic if you could share your info with me…. Thanks, Dave

    Dave-

    As you probably know the BassMasters Elite 50 was held out here last summer, but I’m sure you are talking about a tournament for us “mortal men”.

    There is the Lake Wissota Open that is held in July. That is the only bass tournament that I know of that is held in the summer.

    If you come out to pre-fish, look me up. I don’t normally target bass, but I can tell you what the word on the street is.

    I fish the lake wissota open nearly every year. Won it in 98 & 99. It is held the second saturday in July. (July 14th last year). Registrations are not out yet for 2006.
    It is actually 2 tournaments. One for bass and another for walley. You can pay double the entry and fish in both. It is put on by the Chippewa Bass club and takes off out of the Rod & Gun club boat landing near St. Joseph hospital on the west shore of the big lake.
