ARM – Anglers as Role Models, along with Walleye Searchers of Minnesota are pleased to announce the 18th annual Lake Pepin Open. This new partnership between ARM and the Walleye Searchers of Minnesota Club will be the premiere Team Event on the Mississippi River/Lake Pepin in 2003.

The tournament is scheduled for April 26th and 27th and will be held out of Coleville Park in the City of Red Wing, Mn.

As in the past, this tournament will be a 2-day, team event. But new to the event this year will be a $200 entry fee with a 100 % payback to the top ten teams! That right, 100 % of the entry fee will be awarded back to the anglers!

In order to raise funds for ARM, we are asking for a $10 per angler donation to ARM. This donation is fully tax deductible and will help fund youth fishing programs ARM plans to organize in 2003.

The Lake Pepin Open is an RCL qualifying tournament.

$20,000 purse based on a full field of 100 teams:

    1st place = $7,500

    2nd place = $4,500

    3rd place = $3,000

    4th place = $2,000

    5th place = $1,000

    6th place = $600

    7th place = $500

    8th place = $400

    9th place = $300

    10th place = $200

Stay tuned for more details, including the big fish and option pots.

Rules and Entry forms are scheduled to be mailed out soon. For more information about this tournament or ARM, please contact me at [email protected] or you can print an entry form from the Walleye Searchers website.

I have a favor to ask of everyone here on FTR, these links to the flier & entree form print out very nicely & if everyone would print off a few and drop them off at your favorite bait & sporting goods stores you would be helping out a great cause, your help would be much appreciated, if you can not view the links for some reason send me your address here or in a PM and I will be more than happy to send you some hard copies.

You will need Acrobat Reader to view these files.

Just a quick update on the LPO, we now have 60 pre-registed teams. I get a few new entry’s each day in the mail. Some guys like to wait until the rules meeting to sign up, this year I can not promise that there will be spots open by then, so if you have been holding off on sending in your entry it might be a good idea to send it in now before it fills up! We look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, please call Steve Plantz at 507-280-8736 or Jon Jordan 651-343-9318.

It may take a day but keep your eye on the forum as I’m sure there will be some posts and some photo’s. Just for trivia though 312 pork sandwichs were served, along with a very large tub of cole slaw, lots of beans, potato chips and pop. It was sure a nice couple of days. Steve

Day 2, no pressure and just went fishing!

    That’s fishing.

What happened is right! Ah well. We had a great pre-fishing… 28″ fish… 29″ fish… blah, blah, blah. Sunday was goofin’ off fishing with a buddy.

    We’ll get ’em next time.

Great tournament Jon & crew! I had a blast. And to Steve Greene… I spent much of Sunday afternoon daydreaming about, wishing for and mumbling under my breath about one of your sandwhiches. Super nummy. Awesome job.

Who from the board was to the top, and i guess for the middle and bottom as well, doesn’t matter if you were 1st 30th, 60th or last.

Sounds like a great tourney guys. I am sorry that I had to missed the event this year.
Tourney fishing……say no more. All who has ever fished tourneys knows that anything can happen on any day out there regardless of how much you had a bite dialed.

    Good job guys!

I had a blast!!! Sat we were done at 10am. Had to work a lot harder on Sun though. Not too bad for Adam (Gimpy), cashing a check in his first ever tournament. Congrats man!!!

We spent our time pulling 3 ways. Sat a #9 Chartruse Rapala was the ticket. It caught all our fish. Sun we did the same thing on a mix of colors. 5oz weights were needed with all the currebt we were fighting. Of course there was the one that got away each day. Oh well, that’s fishing.

Thanks for a great tournament guys!!
