    CABELA’S MWC WORLD WALLEYE CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR OCT. 17-19

    50 TEAMS VIE FOR CROWN AT PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WIS.

    Minnetonka, Minn.-The Mississippi River at Prairie du Chien, Wis., will be
    the site where 100 of North America’s finest professional walleye anglers
    will compete for the coveted title of, Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit
    (MWC) World Walleye Champions.

    This fishing spectacular will take place Oct. 17-18-19, highlighted by
    weigh-ins at the Cabela’s Prairie du Chien retail store. The public is
    invited to attend, including the Pro/Am on Oct. 16th; admission is free. The
    Championship field consists of the top 50 point accumulating teams who
    competed during the 2001 MWC season. Heading the Championship field will be
    the 2001 MWC Team of the Year, Steve DeLain and John Renschen of Red Wing,
    Minn.

    Championship qualifiers will vie for a $100,000 cash purse, with $25,000
    being awarded the World Champions. All of the teams share the prize money,
    which is funded by the MWC sponsors. The contestants pay no entry fees.
    Members of the local Falling Rock Walleye Club will assist the MWC staff
    with boat inspections, launching and the weigh-ins.

    The Pro/Am event will precede the Championship competition. An amateur
    angler will be assigned to each of the 50 teams, providing them the thrill
    of tournament fishing with one of the top pro-walleye teams in the country.
    The Championship will be featured on The Outdoor Channel television network
    on Nov. 1st at 5:00 p.m. and Nov. 3rd at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

    Championship as well as MWC tournament coverage and related articles also
    appear in the North American Fisherman magazine, the official publication of
    the MWC. All circuit events are conducted from the Cabela’s
    state-of-the-art, computerized mobile transport vehicle, which is
    specifically designed for tournament television coverage. Additionally, all
    MWC tournaments serve as qualifying events to the 2003 Cabela’s National
    Team Championship.

    Went by Cabelas this weekend and they already have the service trailiers for Ranger, Mercury, and Motor Guide there. Hopefully I can get to the weigh-ins.
