Our next tournament is Sunday July 17.

We are launching from the new ramp in Muscatine located just east of the Marina near the bridge. For those coming from the Quad cities you will simply make a left at the first light instead of the second light and then make an immediate left turn again.

Registration is from 4 to 5 am with an anticipated launch of 5:20 am.

JJ Patton (bassbaron) does it again!!

JJ was able to edge the competition one more time. Although less than a pound separated 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, JJ showed why he is our leader in the Angler of the Year race. While most anglers caught there fish in heavy current, JJ put together a winning pattern of flipping wood cover in a backwater area. His five fish for 8.86 lbs was just enough to win this day.

Rick Cloninger had an impressive showing at this just his third ABA tournament. His pre-penalty weight of 5 fish equaling 9.24lbs would have had him win, but circumstances beyond his control led to four dead fish and a one pound penalty. Rick caught most of his fish by cranking and fishing in the main river channel.

Fasananh Phosy made his District 46 debut by weighing 3 fish for 7.91 lbs!! He took Big Bass honors with his 3.90 lbs pig he caught on a frog in lily pads.

Thanks to all who fished, I look forward to August 7 when we get to do it all over again!
    Here are the full standings
JJ Patton 5 fish 8.86 lbs 2.30 big bass
Rick Cloninger 5 fish 8.24 lbs 1.66 big bass

JT Bagwell 3 fish 7.44 lbs 3.40 big bass
Paul Hovonick 3 fish 6.38 lbs 3.35 big bass
Ken Warren 3 fish 5.80 lbs 2.82 big bass
AJ Cavazos 2 fish 4.02 lbs
Chris DeVries 1 fish 1.57 lbs

It was tough fishing. Water too low to get into many areas. Rain gods bring some here please.

Thanks, a lucky win in my book. I never imagined that those five fish (skinny, malnourished and not very long) would hold up. I was happy to earn the points as I headed towards weigh in and was pleasantly surprised to leave with cash in hand!!
