I received this in an e-mail from a friend today and thought I would pass it along for all you bass guys out there

    Quote:

The bass tournament on May 7 that I am fishing in has more Pro’s signed
up than Am’s at present, so they are looking for amateurs to sign up
for that tournament. The tournament in on the Mississippi river, pools
4-5, and the cost is $250. The tournament is “Anglers Elite”, and has a
website at http://www.anglerselite.com Or you could contact the tournament
directors (John & Linda Hesse) at 763-535-8011.

There is a pre-tournament meeting in Wabasha, starting at 7PM sharp on
Friday, May 6. The tournament is the following day, with all boats
leaving the dock in Wabasha about 6:00 AM, and returning about 2:00 PM.
There are approximately 50 confirmed boats in the tournament at this time

Hey Steve, when you say leaving the dock in Wabasha at 0600, do you mean the public boat launch right by Parkside Marina?? I will be pleasure fishing that weekend and would launch earlier if that were the case.
    Thanks much!

I’d pay $200 to fish this one tournament as an AM, but I’m not paying the $50 membership fee they also want for fishing 1 tournament so they may be a few AMs short. Getting greedy.

I understand your point. What they told me was since they don’t have a major sponsor like last year they need that 50 to help cover cost. Otherwise there payout is great in comparison to alot of tourneys we fish.

I have no problem paying a membership fee if i was going to do them all, but when they are trying to fill spots for one tournament so others can fish the rest of the circuit, i’d say either pro-rate the membership or don’t charge one at all and you’d probably get a lot more people willing to fish one.

call and tell em that. I’m not sticking up for them. Just a chance for you to jump in a boat and win some money.
