Anybody ever fish in one of these tourneys? They are going to be on my home water this year and was wondering if they are a good group of people, etc.I e-mailed them from thier web site a few days ago but have not heard back from them yet.
    Thank-you,

Ryan….everything i have heard about them has been good.I thought about fishing the trail this yr but after talking to them i found out they have a meeting the night before. If thats in your home town then nothing wrong with it. Other wise that makes for more motel bills. I still may fish the one that comes to LaCrosse.

Ryan they are good people and Dan is right – if you are points fishing you lose 50 points for not attending the meeting Friday night. The plus side is the meeting includes dinner and that is part of your entry fee – good group of people to talk fishing with at the meeting though.

    Ryan,

What’s up bud…I’ll be fishing FOM this year…I agree w/everyone so far…i’ve heard nothing but good things. If you have any questions, let me know, my partner is helping put together the new WI south division….he can probably help answer them…

I fished one a couple years back and was kind of suprised by a few things I wasn’t made aware of up front. As far as running and conducting a tournament goes…they did well as far as I was concerned. But like I said there was few things I wasn’t aware of as far as pre tourney meeting and what it consisted of and the restrictions at that meeting I guess I could say. I think they have grown into a good sized circuit with ok turnouts.

One rule you might want to know is that there is no prefishing the week before the tourney except for the friday of the tourney. Makes it interesting

    Ryan,
I have fished a few of their tournys and they are well run. The do get some good speakers on the Friday before the tourny. If I could swing fishing the entire circuit I would.

I have fished quite a few of these tourneys the last couple of years, and I have to say that they are an outstanding trail to fish. They do have a mandatory meeting on Friday nights, and there will be a speaker with a message about Christ. Let’s remember what FOM stands for. Fishers of Men. It’s a Christian based tournament trail.
Competetive, fun, and extremely well run. I would reccommend them to anyone looking for a good tournament.
