Any results for BWS Lax & BFL Prairie…I sure saw a bunch of guys from Prairie struggling with the finicky bite, but I’m sure somebody got them. I spent three weeks following two schools and they were still there yesterday. Wife decided relatives coming to visit and an extra $130 for her vacation next week was more important than fishing the tourney. I hate to say it but I told me so But I sure could have used the points. Nancy has been increasingly more and more fun to fish with so I will be done pouting in a year or so
Doesn’t really matter as far as winning. I haven’t set a hook in the two places I mentioned above…just let them pick me up and felt the weight…for three days but when we last set hooks there the fish were topping out at 2#4 – 2#11 ozs. I did find 2 stray 3#ers yesterday, but not a single pickup in that\those areas by anything else and nothing there that led me to believe that they were doing anything but traveling through.
Now for what they have been hitting on…for the last week I have been picked up or gobbled on nearly every plastic I have thrown out(with a little prefernce for scent and pumpkin and junebug colors), and clattershads and shallow diving squarebills also worked.( holo-yellowshad and firetiger with a definite preference for the yellow hologram shad). The two spots are #1 a very obvious but often overlooked,(I haven’t seen anyone there for 2 weeks except me), portion of a wingdam north of Lansing and #2 An area of some backwater S’s that has a substantial amount of lumber on the bottom. It was actually a laydown snag until 1 1/2 years ago when the flood moved most of the lumber visible above the water. I only got small numbers at other locations that were similar but the average size,(mid to upper 2’s), was obvious, but they weren’t at those secondary spots yesterday.
