Which circuit to fish as a co-angler?

I’m thinking about fishing either the Great Lakes BFL or the Wisconsin Gander MTN circuit as a co-angler next year. Does anyone have an opinion on either of these as far as which one is run better and which would be a better learning experience. Does the BFL fish anywhere besides the river and Winneconne? I like the idea of the Gander because you’re fishing as a team instead of competitors. I’m assuming either one has its up and downs. i was just wondering what your thoughts were on these.

    Thanks

I cannot say anything in regards to the GM circuit, as I’ve never fished it, but I have fished the BFL’s for a couple of years.

I did learn much when I was a nonboater, and I’m certainly learning even more as a boater.

The various divisions of the BFL are here:

How did you do at Zone, I weighed the first day but came up empty on Sunday, did not make the cut for state.

I only had 1 for 2lbs on Sat. But, on Sun my partner and I found a pretty good school. I had 3 for about 6 pounds and my boater had 4 for around 7. I ended up 8th overall around 8.5lbs. Nothing special, but I get to bring my boat to state.

Mattis sure put on an a$$ whooping.

I can’t speak of the BFL, but I am fishing the GM Minnesota divison. I am satisfied with the format. I don’t have a bunch of time to pre-fish these areas, so with the boater calling the shots is more acceptable for me, you draw a different boater at each event; you can can see a good mix of fishing styles and techniques. I have been satisfied with both events so far, I think they are very well run, and as a co-boater you could potentialy draw a boater that has good understanding of the water or may struggle with a certain type of water, there is a little bit left to luck of the pairings, but if you were able to put time in on the waters to be fished your input would be considered by any boater you draw. Like most things approaching with a learning and positive attitude will make it more enjoyable experience. My 2 cents worth.
