    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

‘FLW OUTDOORS’ TV HIGHLIGHTS FLW TOUR’S KENTUCKY LAKE EVENT

MINNEAPOLIS (May 19, 2004) — Tune in June 6 to the “FLW Outdoors” television show on the Outdoor Life Network as co-hosts Taylor Carr and Carlton Wing take viewers from the opening round of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Kentucky Lake event, which was presented by Pedigree, all the way through to the crowning of the champion on the final day. The crew will talk to the top 10 pro finalists as they fish on the last day for the big money.
The top 10 includes two of the winningest anglers in the FLW Tour’s history, the new leader in the Land O’Lakes Angler of the Year race and the hottest angler in professional fishing today. David Fritts of Lexington, N.C., who led the competition for the first three days of the event, is the only pro on the FLW Tour to have won four tournaments. Castrol pro David Dudley of Lynchburg, Va., is a past FLW Tour Championship winner and is the circuit’s leading money earner, having taken home more than $1.6 million from FLW Outdoors events. Leading the Angler of the Year race is Shinichi Fukae of Osaka, Japan, who is a rookie on the FLW Tour, and gaining points in his quest to catch up to Fukae’s lead is Yamaha pro Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La., who is currently ranked second in the tour’s 2004 standings. The final weigh-in comes down to one last, single fish to determine who takes home the $100,000 first-place prize.
The Outdoor Life Network broadcasts “FLW Outdoors” Sundays from 1-2 p.m. Eastern time and again Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area.
During each tournament show, FLW Outdoors television hosts Wing and Carr go on location to provide on-the-water coverage. While tournament weigh-ins are broadcast live at Wal-Mart stores throughout the country, “FLW Outdoors” will be tape-delayed by three weeks to bring audiences nationwide the best tournament footage possible throughout the season.
Named after the legendary founder of Ranger Boats, Forrest L. Wood, FLW Outdoors is the industry’s premier provider of sport-fishing tournaments, including the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, the world’s most lucrative bass-fishing circuit; the EverStart Series, known as the gateway to the FLW Tour; the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League for weekend anglers; the Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail; the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Tour, the world’s most lucrative walleye-fishing circuit; and the Wal-Mart RCL Walleye League for weekend anglers.
