Would any of you bass anglers fish a “catch, photo & release” team tournament if the pay-out was, lets say $10,000.00 and an entry fee of $500.00?

Only if you, or someone else paid my entry fee.

That kind of money would just tempt to many Non honest type of people. A catch and release tourney for a club event is one thing. A money tourney is a whole nother thing.

I’d want weights to the hundredth of a pound…not 30 ties at 100 inches.

Yes, if you had a tournament official in every boat taking the pictures and recording the weights.

If not, then not a chance in hell. Too many guys would take a picture of the same fish in 3 different angles for 3 different lengths.

Like he said if there is a tournament official in the boat taking measurements and such I would do it for sure. All the NABC tournament series tournaments entry is this much. Not too big of a deal! Great idea but need a tournament official. Otherwise your can’t trust anyone. You will get way to many unhappy people.

Thanks for the reply guys. Good points that I too have thought of. The format would be that you would be provided with an object before the tourney, that would have to be in every picture. The fish is put on the ruler all facing the same way. The date and time must be on the picture as well.
My BIGGEST concern is with the weight. I have fished bass tourneys since the 70’s and I know how close the weights can be.
There is a local walleye tourney every year and they catch, photo and release the fish as they are caught. It seems to work for them but I still am not convinced the weights(results)are accurate enough, but I wanted to get some feedback from bass guys.
We are looking at having this tourney (annual event) starting in 2013. So if we had a regular weigh-in, would you fish it?
    Thanks for your input.

Depends on where it is at and what time of year.
