I ordered one and I’m going to run the top two without hooks. Can’t wait to try it.

i’ve used them on salmon and they do work there. To avoid conflicts with our wardens, we went to one hook per rig, which does cut your hook ups, but helps to size sort the strikes. Not sure how well it will work on bass THAT way, but BASS prohibiting them would seem to indicate they are effective. I still haven’t found anyone who has tried them on walleyes, and i would expect reduced utility, as walleyes don’t seem to have the trigger strike that bass do, but i do think they will work on northerns…

I really don’t want to try it, but might have to try running one with three hooks. There are so many companies that came out with them now though, its hard to know which one to try.

One of the things i noticed is that the baits illustrated on the Tackle Warehouse selection were predominately shad imitations AND were NOT the X-formation. The one i tried WAS the X formation and we had enuf of a time setting it trolling that i can not imagine it working in a casting environment.

This one is interesting…. Nichols Umbrella Rig I like the idea of using a couple spinner blades on there. You could do that with any of the other five wire ones too, just add your own spinner blades.
