Hey guys. I have an upcoming tournament this Saturday during mid-day hours. It will be held on a NE metro lake. I have only fished his particular lake for panfish in the community spots. However, I would like to keep away from those and possibly target bigger fish for a winner. I was thinking targeting ‘eyes in deeper water, preferably over hard bottom or near sunken islands 15-25 feet deep. And stay away from crowds. I would like to know if this particular lake is worth a shot for pike with tip ups. I don’t want to name the particular lake on here because I don’t want to spoil anybody’s hard-earned strategies/spots. If you have any input for a mid-day, high-pressure, all-species tournament, I will gladly take it and appreciate it. And I would be VERY appreciative of someone who would PM me for specifics. Thanks a million. You guys are great!

It’s impossible to say if big pike are an option without knowing the lake.
I’m not saying to give us the name but…
Fishing away from crowds is always good.

Most ice tournaments have a designated area and all holes are pre drilled, so getting away from the crowds might not be an option. Good luck and tight lines!

With this cold snap, if it were me I’d go deep
