The trolling – electric vs gas thread got me thinking and wondering what everyone has for a bow mount trolling motor on what and what the top speed is on a flat clam day.

U guys and your fancy electronics. My kids with some paddles can get me around 4.5mph, 5.5mph if I feed em some welches fruit snacks, and can break 10mph if I bust out the whip.

^ Well, if I toss the Chihuahua out there I can kick up the speed a couple MPH. 10 MPH for a short time when he is being chased by a muskie. For some reason my wife didn’t approve of the quick strike rig.

Wives never approve of much. That’s why you do it your way.

Why would you use your TM at those speeds vs your outboard? My 150 suzuki trolls at 2.5.
