It looks like we might be in for a good pre-spawn run this year on the Rainy River.
While we wait for the river to open up, I thought I would throw out a question:
What are your top 3 go to techniques for fishing the pre-spawn walleye on the rainy river?
1. I like to fish shallow with 3/8 oz jig & a pulsars soft plastic, pitching to the shoreline
2. Jigging deep water with a soft plastic swim bait produced my personal best 29″ walleye
3. Setting up on a mid river hump and fishing the down stream edge. Holding the plastic jig on or near the bottom and let the current do the work.
What works for you?
