I recently found out that my boat ( 1999 ranger 620vs) was originally custom ordered by the late great Tommy Skarlis and I am wondering if anyone has any clues on where I could find any information or pictures to prove this. The only proof I have is the sun fade line of his name on the engine cowl. I think it would be super RAD to have a picture of him and my boat. Thanks

Your county recorder’s office (or who ever handles boat registration in your state) will have the records showing all previous owners.

It may be a long shot but I believe Tommy was featured with that boat in a issue of in fisherman magazine. I believe it was a story about the flw walleye tour

You might find something by contacting Ranger.

I sent link to Kyle Steinfeldt, he won the National Crappie tournament with Tommy. He works for Do It Molds. He may have an idea.

This is the reply back from Kyle-

“I definitely recognize that boat from many moons ago. I’m sure it was wrapped at one time. ”

I bought this boat in pretty rough shape and have spent a ton of time and money to make her great again, and now knowing it was Tommy’s boat it means even more to me.

My sister’s “significant other” was Tommy’s walleye tournament partner for many, many years. I’ll get in touch with him and let him know about your post. If this boat was Tommy’s, he most likely fished out of it on several occasions.
