FYI – “Today’s Topics,” which are typically found on the left sidebar at the top of the column, have been removed temporarily. The dev team found an issue with the coding that was a major contributor to the slow page load times we were experiencing. The plan is to re-write that code so it uses server resources in a more efficient manner before returning Today’s Topics to its location.
Honestly, initially hated the new format, upon further exploring and seeing the mag articles and attention to detail to get er right from IDO staff, you guys put together quality and this should be an awesome website to come. Kudos to all those behind the scenes. (Bow emoticon Lol)
James: I really like having the “today’s topics” window. I can’t seem to access or see this on my cell phone though (just my desktop). Am I missing something in my setup on the cell phone, or is this by design?
One other thought/question on the new site. Have you/your staff thought about toggling the main heading categories (+/-) on the forums? The only reason I ask is on a selfish note, I don’t like to have to scroll all the way down to the main heading I am looking for (i.e.; I do not need/want to have to scroll past all the lakes in Nebraska, or North Dakota for example, to get to the heading I am looking for.) If I could toggle the heading (minimize) it, it would save me some scrolling time – especially on the cell phone.
Site looks great otherwise. Still learning the ropes though.
