To many hooks

Your livebait rigging supply box, dealing with and organizing hooks, how do you do it?

The way the hooks are packaged is extremely inefficient IMO while fishing. But no other containers hold them that I’ve found in their separate spots, they always get under or around the separators.

    Thoughts?

I hate it when the hooks get caught under the dividers. bawling

Looking at how the hair box is setup just now, wonder how a noodle cut and all hooks stuck in would work?

The best I’ve found is the bass mafia bait coffin. I found mine on sale for $20

I use gamatsu hooks and keep them in the original packaging, the package folds over and reseals. I keep the assorted hooks in a vinal shaving kit case along with swivels and quick connects in their packaging. Compact enough to fit in one of the side pockets of the soft sided tackle box.

You don’t find those cheesy, easily broken, barely can get your fingers in there and when you do you get 5 hooks instead of one or you try to skillfully shake just one out here comes the whole pile packages a PIA?

I tie live bait rigs as I need them, but I tie up spinner rigs and store them on the lindy foam holders. It would work the same for live bait rigs.

Mojo I’m not a fan of pretying for walleye rigs as well, spinners absolutely but not livebait. Too coiled up for my liking. Catfish rigs different story as well.

Liking the options so far, wife just told me to catch dinner so I’m mia for a few hours here. Keep em coming!

Nick, sorry some of us children derailed your thread here. By far the best solution is what Tim J posted. Menards website shows it at $4.99. Surprised Northland or Lindy Tackle hasn’t repurposed that item by sticking on their decal and selling for $19.99. wink

I switched over to gamakatsu g-boxes this year. They have nice slit foam in them like a fly box. Fleet farm stocks them, I believe they are under 12 bucks. They are by far the best hook or jig box I have found.

I’m not sure how much flotation they have. But that would be an entertaining test. Fill it up with your best jigs and toss it in. grin

I use boxes without movable dividers. I don’t get hooks going under or over, they stay where I put them. Falcon and Plano make good ones. I would need 5 or more of the foam boxes to hold what I can put in one box. I would think real estate in most boats is precious.
