Not to mention the new rage of floating Ice suitsSo something to make the entire ice fishing experience safer is making it less safe? How many ice fatalities have been wearing a float suit?
How many young people are buying $600.00 ice suits?

Well the senseless direction this thread has now turned is at least telling me to get off the keyboard or drop the phone and go out fishing.
Stir crazy or just silliness?
I need to maintain my composure for a few more weeks. Two 4 day weekends back to back at the end of the month will find me on the ice with a TUCR in one hand and a beer in the other.
will find me on the ice with a TUCR in one hand and a beer in the other.
Is that a custom ice rod?

No worries, I bet they were all wearing floating ice suits.

Winner!!! The correct answer to my riddle was…none of them were wearing floating ice suits.

Unfortunately that means I probably won’t live long enough to make the MLGTG.
dang snow, ice was doing good till all this wet heavy snow in s-mn, now it may be dicey! for awhile. bring your safety gear!
I think it’s an individual decision every person has to make for themselves. Like how close to the edge of the cliff they take a selfie.
How about a fish off between Dutchboy and Biggill….sort of like the gunslingers of olden days. Loser buys the beer. But wait till the ice is a lot “ticker”.
I’d have no problem supporting an “ice” season. Make it mandatory that no travel of any kind is allowed on any ice before an opening date, say December 15th and closing on Feb. 28 or29th on leap years. Require a license to be on the ice for any reason during this time.
^ common sense goes along ways ! I dont want more rules and regulations a “ice season” and licensee ? No thanks already have 35$ into a fishing liscense, since u dont utilize winters rescourse such as ice fishing lets just make it harder and less enjoyable for those that do

A Striker Trekker suit, with full flotation, can be had for about $300 to $350 – jacket and bibs.

I’d be afraid he push snow in my hole.

Fair enough…
Still on the high side for a young person or family budget.
