A lot of guys seem to have trouble setting up the new shacks. When their cold the skin seems to shrink a little and it is hard to extend the poles. I putt up the front 3 first and atatch the rear support pole on the back one and after the shack relaxes it’s easy to extend the rear one and lock it. Once it’s warmed up its easy to move to the second hole on all the tubes. Love the Otter Cabin, best flip over I’ve ever had. Used it on Upper Red last week, -12 with 30 mph wind. We had 2 fish frys and brought home a limit for 4 guys.

Thanks for the tip Daniel. I got mine last year and it seems like I am wrestling with it every time on the ice. I have done putting up the 3 first support poles first but have not tried the rear support pole. Thanks again! Jay

Yes.. I worded that wrong. I meant the 3 front frame bars myself.

What ever they are called, if you put the front ones up before the back one it helps. I start with the middle and work forward.
