    Tim:

Some good comments here, the ones that seems to make the most sense to look into are pane sizing, making sure you are on the the correct pane to mark, and this is one that I believe no one has mentioned…

If you are trying to map a weed line as Joe S. mentioned check out the depth… using the depth of the outer weedline, if the weeds stop at say 12′, then that depth marker should keep you on a better track. Also to better do this you should be able to insert a digital depth reading into your SI pane, thus making the reading of the depth contour easier.

    Good luck!!!

Mark, curious how you do this on a helix! Can you let me know? Thanks

Are you talking about the range lines?

I think he is talking about using the depth highlight, weeds at 12 foot depth set it for that depth in the color you want. This should give you a rough idea of where the weedline starts. I use it say I find fish in 15 feet of water I can go in set depth highlight to 13-15 feet, pick color and every piece of water at that depth will high light on my map.

Have my depth highlight on-have 0-10 green 10-15 red. 99% of my open water stuff is in <15. As far as marking on SI, I just need to switch my active side, very very basic. Problem solved. Still figuring stuff out, those Tom Boley vids are great but I would say half of his screen shots I’m thinking: ‘ok, see that speck you circled but how do you know its a walleye or how would I know its a walleye?
