Anyone ever run tip ups on Rush lake? I want to take my wife and 9 year old son out tomorrow and Rush looks like it houses some decent pike numbers and size. East Rush looks like it has much less structure than West, but I’ve also heard it’s less busy.
Thinking of heading out of Flickabirds but am open to suggestions if anyone has any experience on the lake!
I have ran tip ups on Rush lake, East Rush, specifically. There are some nice pike in that lake! Pulled a 36″,and released, out of there! I was off the northeast weedline. Good luck!

Nice Pike! How deep do the weeds run out there? Any depth range you think I should target?
I’ve heard east rush is actually better for fishing from multiple people.
10′-15′ or so, for the weedlines.

Well we made it out for a few hours today, we setup in shallow water on an underwater point that dropped off to deeper water. I had a few tip ups on top and a couple into deeper water. We had a couple flags, only put one northern on the ice, but it was a healthy 30 inch fish. My wife caught it on on of the arctic warrior tip ups so that was fun!
Overall pretty slow, but a beautiful day to be out on the ice, we will be back out tomorrow on a different part of the lake. I’ll post a report tomorrow too.
