I ice fish Pool 4 all the time but rarely run tip ups. I’ve got a gang of nieces and nephews who want to go out for a day of ice fishing and chasing flags. Is anyone willing to share an idea of a place to try? We’d be keeping nothing and I couldn’t care less if it’s all hammerhandles or dinky bass.

I’ll gladly reciprocate with intel about panfish ice reports, open water spots walleye/sauger fishing, etc via PM. I just want them to catch something and have a good experience.

I’m not saying I don’t believe you, but I’ve never had a flag in my life in either the Wabasha marina or Pickle Factory area. I’m not much of a marina fisherman which is probably my issue, but we venture into them every once in awhile when short on time or after a big snow for the easy walk. Maybe I need to revisit them with the nieces and nephews for an easier day.

Pike are all water where there is food maybe your not set up near the spots they are lol it takes patients and multiple hole/ moves to find them sometime. I sat almost 2 hours Sunday before I had 1 flag then it was feeding time from there. I have caught multiple 37 to 40 inch where you would not think they are.surprise!! Some marinas produce more fish so its easier to return to those. A example red wing for a few years was on fire but the last 2 I have not had ANY luck. Bad timing? Not sure but its hard to return but I will cuz I pulled a 39 inch from there few years back. Good luck
