I will be selling Tip Downs again this year, if your interested PM, text or call me 715-379-2376. Includes Pole, Frame,Safety Line and completely rigged and ready to fish, just add a Crappie Minnow. $30 each. I can ship them if needed, shipping runs about $8.00 for the one and $1.00 for each additional one.

We have been using Tip Downs for over 30 years, long before they became popular, were mass produced and sold in the stores. When I moved to Eau Claire from the eastern side of the state 20 years ago no one knew what they were. I got a lot of strange looks, especially when we were out fishing guys jigging for Crappies and Perch by 5 to 1.

They will not out fish a person jigging all of the time but when they do you will be glad to have them. Why not add an extra easy to watch line or two (Wisconsin) in the water when your fishing?

The frame folds flat and they weigh about a pound, easy to setup and kids love to use them. The balance on them is set so that once the pole reaches horizontal it free falls to the ice. It takes next to nothing to pull the pole down.

Safety Line should be used or you could lose a pole down the hole. Past customers pictures.

I’m kind of bummed. There are quite a few people around where I fish now that are getting tipdowns. I bought 4 from Icenutz 5 or 6 years ago and have been able to put on more than 1 clinic when I was one of the only ones with them.

There are a lot of people making them now. Most copied our design which is fine with me. When I first moved to Eau Claire 20 years ago, no one knew what Tip Downs were.

A few locals came up with their design after watching us slay the Crappies and Perch. Sullivan Tip Downs were created a few years after they saw mine. Sure Strike copied our original wood design and their grandson tried to blame me for copying their design, until I sent him a link to pictures I post on the web years before they started making them.

My father and cousin started making them back in the 70s after seeing an older gentleman using long light tree branches for rods. They only bent over and didn’t tip. They finally came up with the design made out of wood.

I switched to PVC so that the frames don’t get wet, swell, and need to be dried out. They still fold flat and weigh almost the same.

Thank you all for the kind comments, my father enjoyed making them when he was still alive and I’m sure he still does

Selling again this year, might be my last year. Same price as last year.

I finally figured out what has been affecting me and getting worse as time goes on. I got bit by a very tiny tick 5 years ago during deer season. I was tested for Lymes 3 times and all negative. I finally found a tick place in Woodruff and they tested for 12 different things and I ended up having Bartonella.

Not doing well and it is difficult to cure. 2 months of 8 antibiotic pills a day and now on 14 natural pills a day.
