Time to get the tackle ready

We always take a few days in September at the cabin and I always take advantage of not having to mow to fish a lot. For years gold/orange stripe has been a go-to color pattern for me while blue/silver, green/silver, rainbow trout and blue/purple stripe on silver have all been good at times as well. In more recent years this Hot Pink/Orange on gold has been a super producer for all of the fish that are available for catching, but its not a color combo that is easily found on casting baits so I do my own.

In the picture the bottom lure is a factory bait that I have renewed the colors on. The top baits are done on a 3″, 1/2 ounce spoon blank I order in silver-plate and gold-plate. This pink/orange on gold has been a super color for fall fishing and I’m ready.

I have DareDevils in that color. Very hot at times.

Every time I start out trolling on Superior you can bet I have a 57 Chevy on at least one line. It might not always be the best one for the day but more times than not it is.

Off the breakwater in Two Harbors, yes. I do Stoney Point occasionally and the breakwater in Silver bay too.
